Manual Therapy
Manual Therapy is performed by highly skilled Physical Therapists' hands and not by machines at ITR. Manual Therapy includes:
- Mobilization - This technique includes slow, measured movements in order to improve thier normal position and motion. Mobilization can help loosen and relax tight tissue around a joint and helps with increasing flexibility and alignment during motion.
- Mobilizations with Movement - This technique uses hand positons to support joints and allow painfree movements. The therapist supports the bones and joints while the patient moves through functional patterns. The techniques allow improved painfree range of motion and helps the body relearn appropriate movement patterns.
- Soft tissue Mobilizations - This technique works directly on the soft tissues of the body: ligaments, tendons, fascia and the muscles. STM helps relax muscles, improve circulation, and ease pain in the soft tissues.
